Oscar Wilde once said, “After a good dinner one can forgive anybody, even one’s own relatives.” One can only hope that this saying holds for your coworkers as well, especially if you offend their taste buds.

Does your office or company do a lot of potluck-style gatherings? If so,  you’ve probably seen your fair share of terrible food. I’m not saying all of your coworkers are bad chefs, but there are a select few who should not quit their day job!

Case in point, Global News Calgary—a team of reporters for Global News in Canada—recently suffered through a terrible experience involving artichoke dip and a live broadcast. According to Today, the news anchors gathered around their coworker’s homemade artichoke dip and after sampling a few bites, proceeded to gag on live television.

The meteorologist was the first to speak up, while trying to be polite, he also looked like he was about to lose his lunch. He exclaimed, “It’s not that bad … It’s—the vinegar.” To which the offending chef replied, “But there’s no vinegar in there!” The anchor who made the unappealing appetizer added, “It’s artichoke dip, but something went terribly wrong.” The other anchors, also being polite, continued to try the dip with one exclaiming, “It burns.” With that, the whole crew broke out into laughter!

Eventually, the reporter was able to figure out what went wrong with her artichoke dip. A viewer tweeted to her, “… just regular canned artichokes are ideal for that dip!” To which she replied, “Apparently the key is to NOT use pickled artichokes!!”
