Is It the Power of Positive Thinking or a Tulpa?

Good things are starting to happen, and while I love tying content to a good theme, I just can’t wait any longer. With that said, October is right around the corner and it’s my favorite month!

As a neurodivergent worker, I marathon horror movies during the workday to keep myself focused on my work. Weird, right? I just cannot focus if music is playing in the background, the beats are too distracting. Weird again, right?
Anyway, during the last few days I’ve been getting into the “holiday” season by watching some of my favorites to pass the time. You’re probably thinking, “shouldn’t you be looking for a job?,” you would be correct, but more on that later.
So, sticking with the spooky theme, have you ever heard of a tulpa? According to the ever-accurate Wikipedia (sarcasm font intended) a “Tulpa is a concept in Theosophy, mysticism, and the paranormal, of a materialized being or thought form, typically in human form that is created through spiritual practice and intense concentration.”
Tulpas can be divided into three different thought-forms: “in the shape of the person who creates them, forms that resemble objects or people and may become ensouled by nature spirits or by the dead, and forms that represent inherent qualities from the astral or mental planes, such as emotions.” If you’ve ever seen any Nightmare on Elm Street movie, Freddy Kruger is an example of an extremely messed up tulpa.
So, where am I going with all this? I’m a firm believer in the power of positive thinking, and I feel like negativity breeds more negativity. Over the last few weeks, I had been feeling so dejected about the job search. I had been sharing my experiences with my closest friends and I felt like maybe I was jinxing things because I was only sharing the negative.
I had to change my thought-form to put some positivity out there. As a superstitious person, I decided I wasn’t going to share anything with anyone; except my husband so he could keep the dogs quiet during interviews. Within two weeks, things got better and after next week I’ll have some really exciting news to share! I’m still concerned about jinxing things, so I’m just going to leave it at that! (Read between the lines 😉!)
Also, if you’ve made it this far, I’ll share a fun fact: I live near a commercial haunted house (Dark Manor). It’s only open in October, but they start working on it in July. They have a soundtrack of spooky sounds that they play during that day while they’re working, and I love hearing it in the middle of the summer. When they’re open for the season, our neighbors get annoyed at the nightly screaming, but I love it! I'm weird, if you haven't figured this out by now!
